Adf.ly Overview

About Adf.ly
Adf.ly allows you to monetize any URL or website you want with ads. There are no restrictions on website owners (like minimum visitors) and anyone can sign up.

Ad types and CPM
Adf.ly provides three main ad types: banner adsinterstitial ads and popups (these links point to live demos. Can't see anything? Try disabling your ad blocker). These ads all pay per view as opposed to click. This means you get paid when people view the ad, even if no one clicks on it.

The rate per 1000 views (CPM) in tier 1 countries (US, Canada, UK, Australia) for each ad type is shown below:

Banner ad:  $0.45 to $0.72 CPM
Interstitial ad: $1.60 to $3.96 CPM
Pop ad: $1.19 to $2.00 CPM

Creating Adf.ly Interstitial and Banner Ads

In this section we will cover how to create interstitial and banner ad units. You'll need an Adf.ly account to proceed.
Step 1:

Log into your account and click the Tools button at the top of the page.

Step 2:

Select Easy Link from the sidebar options.

Step 3:

After completing step 2, you will be provided with two links. The first link is for interstitial advertisements. The format is as follows:

        http://adf.ly/#######/any_url_you_want

The red numbers are a unique ID. This is used to identify the advertisement impression and associate it with your account.

The purple text is the URL of the website you are linking to. You can place any URL you want here, and it can be used for any link on your website.

A banner ad link is as follows:

          http://adf.ly/#######/banner/any_url_you_want

For banners, the only difference is the orange addition to the link, which is used to determine what type of ad is displayed to the user.

Now that you know how to create Adf.ly ads, use the next section to learn how you can implement these ads on your website.
Using Adf.ly Ads Within Your Website

Once you've created your own interstitial or banner ad link with adf.ly, navigate to the page on your website where you would like to place your link. This link can point to another page on your website or to another website entirely. If you are on your website but can't see the editing menu, make sure you are signed in with the website owner's account.

To begin editing your website, click the Edit Page button in the top right of the page (button has pencil icon).

Step 1:

Highlight the text or image you would like to use as your link. Then select the Add or Remove Link button on the toolbar as shown below.

Step 2:

In the popup box that appears, select Web address in the sidebar menu.

Step 3:

Then proceed to paste your interstitial or banner ad link  into the Link to this URL box.

Step 4:

Click Save and then save your page to make the changes live. When clicking on this link, a user should now be directed to an interstitial ad or a website with a banner ad.

Step 5 (optional):

If using your own Google Site in an adf.ly banner ad link, you'll need to enable embedding for your website. To do this, select the More Actions button from any page on your website and choose Manage Site from the drop down options.

After making sure that General is selected in the left sidebar, select the checkbox beside Allow embedding of your site in other sites found under the Security heading.
